Robert Houston-Managing Director and Principal Lawyer

Rob brings over 15 years of experience as a driven and committed legal professional and advisor. Rob's expertise lies in negotiating and finalising large-scale and complex land access and land management agreements and working with his clients to support the delivery of their strategic objectives and enhance economic outcomes. With a strategic mindset, Rob excels in providing comprehensive advice and representation on native title, commercial law, resource development law and carbon/environmental law and has acted on many significant transactions, land use agreements and negotiations for clients across Western Australia.

Rachel McGarry -Senior Associate

Rachel, is an experienced lawyer specializing in legal project management, with a keen focus on native title, future acts, and heritage management. Her expertise extends to offering professional legal and governance support to indigenous organizations, particularly Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs). With a deep understanding of native title, cultural heritage, governance structures, and a broad spectrum of legal matters, Rachel brings invaluable experience to every project she undertakes. She is dedicated in navigating complex legal landscapes while ensuring the preservation of indigenous rights and cultural heritage.

Bruce Rudeforth -Senior Associate

Bruce is a proud Yawuru traditional owner who combines his own commercial experience with his legal expertise to support clients across matters in commercial law, land access, native title and corporate social responsibility and ESG. Bruce specialises in representing his clients in commercial negotiations with resource proponents and has successfully negotiated many land access and cultural heritage agreements in the Kimberley, Goldfields, Midwest and Goldfields regions.  Bruce also has signficant experience adcising clients on governance matters including compliance matters under the Corporations Act, directors' duties, and optimal board practices. His extensive legal practice spans corporate, contract, energy and resources, native title, and property law, providing invaluable insights and guidance on complex matters concerning the Native Title Act 1993 and the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islander) Act 2006.

Parsa Ardestani -Consultant

Parsa is a business analyst, that specializes in documentation, requirement gathering, policy creation and implementation, as well as systems and process development. Parsa works closely with future acts that impact native title, providing assistance to stakeholders to ensure compliance and alignment with legal regulations and community needs. Additionally, he has consulted with Prescribed Bodies Corporates in relation to the 2021 Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act his consulting resulted in the designation of the first Local Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Service (LACHs) in Western Australia.

Ashley Mumford -Senior Associate

  Ash brings a wealth of experience in the Native Title and Aboriginal Heritage fields, having worked with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal organisations in his previous roles as a senior lawyer and General Counsel at the Kimberley Land Council. 

With strong litigation and negotiation skills, Ash has represented Traditional Owner groups in native title and compensation claims in the Federal Court. Ash has experience in resolving future act objections in the National Native Title Tribunal and in negotiating agreements for the protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage. Ash has also advised Traditional Owner groups in Indigenous Land Use Agreement negotiations for large scale projects, including resources and land management projects.

Highlights for Ash have been working with the Mayala and Bardi & Jawi PBCs in establishing their marine parks, and working with Malarngowem native title holders in their claim for compensation for the destruction of a sacred site.
